- School year for all types of schools starts on 1 September and runs until 31 August. It is divided into a teaching period and a summer break period.
- The teaching period starts on 1 September and runs until 30 June of the following calendar year.
- Classes take place on workdays: Monday through Friday.
- School year is divided into two semesters. First semester starts on 1 September and ends on 31 January. Second semester starts on 1 February and ends on 30 June.
- Children receive a report card at the end of each semester. Children get grades from all of the classes and their behavior is evaluated as well.
- During school year there are periods of time when children do not attend school. It is during summer break, on public holidays and on days off announced by the principal (no more than five days per school year). These information can be found in the child’s report book or in the school information system. School year calendar and information about possible changes can be found on the school website.
- (Main) summer break lasts 2 months from 1 July to 31 August.
- Other breaks during school year are: fall break, Christmas break, mid-term break, spring break, and Easter break. Actual dates can be found in the child’s report book and on the school website.
