What a day in a primary school looks like

  • Classes usually start at 8 a.m. At the primary stage (grades 1–5) classes usually end in the early afternoon. At the lower secondary stage (grades 6–9) children also have afternoon classes. Children at the primary stage can go to the school day care after or before classes.
  • One class takes 45 minutes and is followed by a 10 minute break. Main snack break usually takes place between 9:40 and 10:00. After classes, children can have lunch in the school cafeteria. If they have afternoon classes, they usually have an hour long lunch break between the morning and afternoon sections.
