The 2nd round of the high school admissions

06. 05. 2026

Did you miss the first application round, or were you not admitted anywhere?

No need to worry. Schools open a second round for programmes that were not filled in the first round.

Conditions for the second round

  • You can apply in the second round if in the first round you were not admitted anywhere, or you declined your admission or you did not take part in the first round.
  • If you did not take the unified entrance exam (JPZ) in the first round, then you cannot apply for programmes that require JPZ in the second round. In these cases, admission is based on the results from the first round.
  • The application process, number of schools limit, and priority ranking work the same as in the first round.

Applicants requesting exam adjustments

  • You must tick the relevant box in the application and attach supporting documents.
  • If in the first round you had the Czech language JPZ-test replaced with an interview, the interview will also apply in the second round. It is not possible to take the Czech JPZ-test in the second round.
  • Just as in the first round, you will be invited to the interview at each school that requires JPZ results for admission.

Your experience with admission interviews matters!

Please, share with us how your high school admission interview went, in our short anonymous survey. Your response will help us document cases where applicants’ rights may have been violated.
