File inspection allows you to verify whether the proceedings and evaluation of your high school entrance examination were correct, including an interview replacing the unified entrance exam (JPZ) in the Czech language.
The file must contain records of the exam questions, your answers and solutions, the evaluation of your answers, and the evaluation methodology. Let’s take the interview that may replace the unified entrance exam as an example:
- Questions — records of the questions the applicant was asked by the committee and the parts and tasks the exam included. If the interview included written tasks performed by the applicant, you should be allowed to consult these as well.
- Evaluation criteria — a detailed procedure of assessing the applicant’s interview performance which should, e.g., specify the weight of the individual parts, the number of points awarded for each part, and the evaluation methodology.
- Interview proceedings — the school keeps the interview proceedings as a record of the applicant’s performance in the individual parts, their evaluation, and the overall result.
The period of file inspection is several days before the publication of results within the specific round. The exact date for file inspection can always be found on the school’s website or in the DiPSy system. The dates for the current year are published in our News section and on the prihlaskynastredni.cz web portal.
You have the right to:
- Make copies or photos of the documents.
- Be represented by another person – you may mandate someone to inspect your file on your behalf by granting them power of attorney (no notary verification needed).
- Come with an interpreter or another person (power of attorney is also needed).
When you come to inspect your file, you’ll be given a document to sign. If there’s anything you don’t agree with, please state this in the document. Make sure you agree with the content before signing.
What if you’re deprived of your right to inspect your file or any of its parts?
- Not being allowed to inspect one’s file means violation of one’s rights as an applicant.
- Request a written statement from the school, which must say that your request has been denied, explaining the reasons for doing so.
- If the school refuses to give you the written statement, we recommend documenting this by making an audio recording using, e.g., your phone. You don’t need a consent to make an audio recording of an act which is part of an administrative procedure (Section 88 (2) of the Civil Code).
