MŠ, ZŠ
Preparatory class is attended the year after completing kindergarten and before starting the first grade of primary school. Preparatory classes are organised by primary schools and intended for children with deferred school attendance (a child’s attendance can be deferred at the parents’ request, at the recommendation of the school director or education counselling facility (ECF)).
The purpose of the preparatory class is to systematically prepare the child from a developmental and psychological point of view to start the first grade of the educational programme.
- Filled in primary education application form.
- The child‘s birth certificate, a parent‘s ID.
- A written recommendation from an ECF (or written consent of the director of the school where the child was enrolled).
WHERE TO APPLY At the director of the primary school.
WHO CAN APPLY FOR PREPARATORY CLASSThe child‘s legal guardian.
WHICH SCHOOLS HAVE PREPARATORY CLASSES
You can find information about the schools in your neighbourhood that are opening preparatory classes by asking at your kindergarten, at an educational counselling facility or at the local Department of Education for your municipality.
The primary school director makes the decision to place a child in preparatory class.
